Beylerbeyi Palace

This is how the summer residence of the sultans are...
Mostly used as a summer palace and a state guest house, Beylerbeyi Palace was built between 1863 and 1865.

In fact, Beylerbeyi Palace and its surrounding is a region that has been known since the Byzantine Period and has a large grove. A palace building was built by Mahmud II for the first time in the area, which was known as the "Garden of the Cross" until the beginning of the 19th century. In 1851, a fire broke out in the palace in the presence of Sultan Abdulaziz. The palace was left to its fate for a long time, considering it to be ominous for this reason.

Later, Sultan Abdulaziz demolished the ruins of the palace and rebuilt Istanbul's famous architect family, Sarkis Balyan, one of the Balians.

Covering an area of 3000 square meters with its additional buildings, the palace is eye-catching with its stunning view of the Bosphorus, set gardens, pools and pavilions.

The palace, which has survived to this present day in its original form as a work of the 19th century, has 3 entrances, 6 large halls, 24 rooms, a hamam and 1 bathroom. Due to Sultan Abdulaziz's love for the sea, many frames on the ceilings of the palace feature sea and ship themes.

The palace has always managed to surprise its visitors with its western architecture from the exterior and classical Ottoman architecture from the inside.

The garden of the palace is decorated with bronze animal sculptures, all built in Paris. In addition, there is a giant 80x30 meter pool in the garden of the Palace that can be visited by trunk.

Beylerbeyi Palace, being a summer palace, is a unique place where historical characters are kept.

2. Abdülhamit spent the last days of his life in this palace, and in 1936, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk stayed in this palace for one night.

French Emperor III. Napoleon's wife, Empress Eugénie, German Emperor II. Wilhelm, King Nikola of Montenegro, Shah of Iran Nasruddin, Gran Duke Nikola and Austro-Hungarian Emperor Franz Joseph are among the guests of the palace.
